Friday 28th February to Sunday 2nd March 2025
Friday evening to Sunday afternoon
Do you enjoy the great outdoors and like the thought of working in the countryside on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast? Then why not join us for a hedge planting weekend.
We are looking for a team of up to 20 volunteers, who'd like to get dirt under their finger nails and help plant new hedges at Deepdale Camping & Rooms and Deepdale Farm.
Volunteers can stay for free in a shared single sex room or on the campsite in your own tent, campervan or motorhome, half board provided (accommodation, breakfast & evening meal), in exchange for two days work (9am to 3pm).
Please don’t just turn up, you must book in advance by completing the Volunteer Form …

Friday evening we'll probably have pizzas and on Saturday night we'll have a chilli.
Unfortunately, we can't accept children on the weekend as insurance won't cover them.
The team is a maximum of 20 people working with Jason, Chris and various Deepdale crew.
The itinerary for the weekend goes something like this:
Arrive Friday evening
Supper in the Granary
Saturday
8am - Breakfast
9am - Head out to our work area
Picnic lunch (you need to provide this or buy from Deepdale Stores or Deepdale Cafe)
3pm - Back to the Granary for a cuppa and to rest the weary limbs
7pm - Supper
Sunday
8am - Breakfast
9am - Head out to our work area
Picnic lunch (you need to provide this)
3pm - Back to the Granary for a cuppa, cake and goodbyes
If you have been with us for both days and would like to stay Sunday night as well, then you'd be more than welcome.
Work will be planting new hedges and trees on Parsons Bush, to enhance the beauty and wildlife value of this new camping field.
"I just wanted to say how much Dave, Kevin and myself enjoyed the conservation weekend and the friends we made. Please pass on our thanks to the team for their hospitality and the very enjoyable barbecue. I know it's the distant future but if you're taking bookings for a future conservation weekend please include all three of us on the list."
Mik, Derbyshire
Remember that you just need to bring food for lunch on the Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise you just need a towel and some clothes suitable for working outdoors, and some sturdy footwear, wellies or walking boots would be ideal. Of course it never rains here, but bringing a waterproof might not be a bad idea!
Due to insurance and health & safety issues, anyone wanting to take part in the Conservation Weekend must be over the age of 21.
Accommodation in the Granary is in shared rooms, sharing with other volunteers, usually single sex. If you want to camp then you'll provide your own tent, campervan or motorhome.
Price: FREE for those getting their hands dirty and attending the whole weekend (Friday evening to Sunday evening).
