What a difference a year makes, and 2017 is going to be a great year in Burnham Deepdale, with a new team running the hostels and campsite at Deepdale Farm, the return of Deepdale Conservation Weekends, the second Deepdale Spring Market, the inaugural Deepdale Hygge, and the first ever North Norfolk Coast Hygge Fair. And that just tells you what’s happening up until the first weekend of Spring at the end of March. Beyond that there is so much more planned, but we’ll come to that in due course.
The new team at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping are really beginning to make good their plan to return the award winning facilities at Deepdale to their best. The redecoration is almost complete, the new shower blocks are under construction, the electric hookup cables are in and the worst of the trench digging is done. 600m of hedges are due to be planted at the next Deepdale Conservation Weekend over the first weekend of February. Customers are enjoying the new atmosphere and it’s lovely to welcome old friends back after a long absence. – deepdalecamping.co.uk
Chris Haycock, Deepdale’s operations director, is passionate about live music and his love of the North Norfolk Coast, and out of that grew the idea of the Deepdale Hygge, a celebration of what the Deepdale team love about where they work and play. The inaugural Deepdale Hygge is planned for the first weekend of Spring, Friday 24th to Sunday 26th March. Those staying at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping or exhibiting at the Deepdale Spring Market will be joining the Deepdale team in finding their own North Norfolk Coast Hygge. – www.deepdalehygge.co.uk
As part of the Deepdale Hygge, the Deepdale crew have invited a whole range of local organisations, attractions and activity providers, for the first North Norfolk Coast Hygge Fair. This will be a one day fair, on Saturday 25th March, helping visitors and locals to discover more about the North Norfolk Coast and find their own Hygge. Exhibitors include the National Trust, Go Ape, Deepdale Bike Hire, MarGins Walking & Glamping Holidays and RSPB, more will be added right up to the event. There will be stands, activities, helpful information and advice. Its free to come along and you can combine with some shopping at the Deepdale Spring Market and lunch at Deepdale Café. – deepdalecamping.co.uk/hygge/fair/
To top off the first weekend of Spring, Dalegate Market will be hosting the second annual Deepdale Spring Market. Building on the huge success of the Deepdale Christmas Market and last year’s first Deepdale Spring Market, over 50 Norfolk artisans and producers will be joining the permanent shops & cafe of Dalegate Market. There will be two large marquees, the beach hut pop up shops and outside stalls on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March. – www.deepdalespringmarket.co.uk
As you can see, Spring will be well and truly sprung in Burnham Deepdale this year.
