Thanks for listening to the Deepdale Podcast, produced by the team at Deepdale Farm, Deepdale Camping & Rooms and Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.
September is Deepdale Festival month, so Jason interviews eight of the artists appearing on the incredible line-up this year, and we play a sample track by each artist.
Tim from 3 Daft Monkeys
Jason catches up with Tim from 3 Daft Monkeys, who are headling Sunday night at Deepdale Festival , and closing the festival.
Tim’s description of their music as European folk music crossed with The Clash with a little bit of Hawkwind thrown in. Sounds perfect for the Brick Barn on a Sunday evening!
Jason from Little Red Kings
Jason chats with Jason about how the Little Red Kings have dealt with the 18 months of no live gigging, exploring their accoustic roots, and their podcast Get in the Van!
Little Red Kings are headlining Deepdale Festival on Friday evening, and will definitely get the Brick Barn rocking.
The Shackleton Trio
Jason chats with Georgia and Aaren from The Shackleton Trio. Usually the trio would be travelling Europe playing gigs, but of course the last 18 months has dealt that life a blow.
They are back on stage and we are really looking forward to them peforming at Deepdale Festival on Saturday on The Orchard Stage.
Lucy Grubb
Jason catches up with Lucy, who has been busy recording her new EP. Lucy has just performed at Moseley Folk Festival, where Chris & Sheila loved her set.
This won’t be her first appearance at Deepdale Festival, and we are so looking forward to her return. You can watch Lucy on Saturday on The Brick Barn Stage.
Katie Doherty
Jason chats with Katie Doherty, who is performing with The Navigators in St Mary’s Church on Sunday afternoon.
Katie has started work on a new album, has been working in theatre, and is loving being back out giggin.
We are really looking forward to Katie’s first set at Deepdale Festival, and her music will fit beautifully with the church surroundings.
Chris Fox
This will be Chris’ first appearance at Deepdale Festival. He was one of the artists booked in for 2020, and like many other artists was kind enough to let us roll over his booking.
Jason chats with Chris about virtual gigging during lockdown, being creative in lockdown, and being back performing live gigs.
Chris plays on Saturday on The Orchard Stage.
Emma O’Reilly
Last time Emma and Jason chatted on the podcast, it was pre pandemic and they were able to share a microphone sitting on the same sofa. Oh how times have changed.
Emma has been busy teaching at Access to Music in Norwich, and has been helping students continue to be creative in lockdown.
Will be lovely to welcome Emma back to Deepdale Festival, and she’s performing on Saturday on The Orchard Stage.
Bryter Than
Jason chats with Helen and Matt, 2 of the 3 members of Bryter Than. They are Northampton based musicians, who have performed at Deepdale a few times over the years, including occasional impromptu music in a field.
You can see Bryter Than’s session on Saturday on The Orchard Stage.
