Morganway are coming our way!

Our Friday headliners at this year’s Deepdale Festival are an East Anglian band who are simply unmissable. Morganway, whose debut album is launched this weekend to incredible acclaim, will be lighting up our main Brick Barn Stage on Friday 27^th September. You just need to be there! Having seemingly been too rock for folk, too pop for indie, too indie for country, we think they are now just too good to miss.

With influences stretching from the ‘70s West Coast rock scene through Brit rock, folk and modern Americana, Chris our Festival Director can hear suggestions of both Heart and Fleetwood Mac in their pomp, alongside inflections of classic modern electric folk. He is sure it’s safe to say Deepdale Festival goers will not be disappointed.

Let Me Go by Morganway

Morganway are a six-piece from East Anglia founded by twin brothers Callum (vocals, guitar, bass) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar, backing vocals). Joined by SJ Mortimer (vocals), Nicole Terry (fiddle), Matt Brocklehurst (keys) and Ed Bullinger (drums), the band has developed a sound built on a love for multi-layered vocal harmonies, driven guitar riffs and distinctive fiddle flourishes, bound by raw, honest songwriting. They’ve built this into a live show that in one moment is classic rock and the next mystical folk, catching the attention of Whispering Bob Harris and many others in the rising British Americana scene.

Their ability to dance around genres yet keep a cohesive sound has been one of the principal reasons Morganway have such a captivating live show. Their incendiary live shows have been blowing attendees away, and it’s hard not to come away a Morganway convert once you’ve seen what people are describing as “One of the most exciting prospects to appear on the scene.”

Touring across the UK this year, including support slots for the wonderful CC Smugglers, they are also playing on Sunday 4^th August in Norwich as part of the Waterfront Sessions. Chris will be there for us, interviewing Morganway for our Festival podcast, so do listen out for this.
