An absolute pleasure to have your listening ears for our first podcast episode of 2025. Welcome to the Deepdale Podcast, our magazine podcast about the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.
This month we visit two of our local museums, Cromer Museum and Sheringham Museum (The Mo) discovering the hidden treasures in these wonderful local attractions. Its clear how incredibly passionate the curators & volunteers are, and the deep knowledge they have about the local area and its history. Our Simon returns with a Top 5 local views, and Oli from One Stop Nature Shop gives us a local wildlife update.
We really hope you enjoy the listen. Please do subscribe to the Deepdale Podcast where ever you usually get your podcasts from, please let your friends & family know about us, and if you have the time weβd love you to leave a review as it all helps encourage more listeners.

Cromer Museum
with Alan Tutt
This town centre museum is well worth a visit. Right in the heart of Cromer, on the high street with the parish church overlooking the museum buildings.
The museum centres around old fisherman cottages, some kept as they were back in their family living heyday, and others converted into galleries. You can meet Valentine, relaxing by his Aga, see the fabulous photos of Olive Edis, visit the collection of local fossils, and generally learn about the history of Cromer and this part of the beautiful Norfolk coast.

The Sex Pistols in Cromer
with Alan Tutt
As Jason was leaving Cromer Museum, Alan happened to mention the brilliant selection of pamphlets they sell covering a huge range of Cromer history.
One of those phamphlets is about The Sex Pistols who played a Christmas Eve gig at the Cromer Links Pavilion in 1977. One of the last gigs they performed in the UK.

Top North Norfolk Views
with Simon
Simon is constantly exploring this beautiful part of the world. When he isnβt working at Deepdale Camping & Rooms, you may well bump into him strolling along the Norfolk Coast Path.
His top views are:
Sunny Hunny Cliffs (preferably at sunset)
Barrow Common (overlooking Brancaster Staithe harbour)
The White Horse (enjoy sunsets from their deck)
Holkham Beach (stunning at any time of the year)
Look Up (star gaze or moon gaze, in this wonderful dark skies area)

Sheringham Museum
with Lisa Little and Mhairi Campbell
This wonderful museum is right on the beach front in Sheringham. The building is like a tardis, as it appears small from the front, but actually contains a huge amount of history and some very large retired lifeboats.
Inside youβll find history of Sheringham, a mermaid trail, retired lifeboats, a sheringham street, wind power gallery, east anglian gansey centre, and so much more. They run lots of events throughout the year, so check their website for more information.

Wildlife Update
with Oli from One Stop Nature Shop
Oli is one of the team of incredibly knowledgable staff at One Stop Nature Shop, next door to Deepdale Camping & Rooms at Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale. Youβll more often than not find him in the shop helping people choose their viewing gear or explaining where to watch the latest visitors to the Norfolk Coast.
Oli tells us more about the pink foot geese that fill the morning and evening skies over Burnham Deepdale, and gives us a round up of the other wildlife visitors we are likely to see in this beautiful part of the world during the Winter.
