Tourism Chat with Chris & Jason

With the uncertainty going forward, Chris & Jason chat about the new Covid-19 Booking Promise. And the improvements they’ve made over the Winter while the campsite and rooms have been closed – The new private rooms in the Stables and Granary, and new pitch options including Super Jumbo Pitches. Bookings are coming in and the whole team look forward to customers returning, particularly tents and campervans that we’ve missed so much.

Farm Chat with Nathan & Jason

Nathan and Jason chat about the latest steps in the move to regenerative farming on Deepdale Farm. Farming continues, despite the lockdown. They’ve received confirmation of the Countryside Stewardship scheme, put up lots of bird boxes, planted a lot more trees, and are thinking about the mental health & general well being of the team and how it’s improved by working in a wonderful environment.

The lovely photo of deer crossing a field on Deepdale Farm, was taken by Stephen from the farm team.

Andy’s Favourite Place – Hunstanton & Old Hunstanton

As a relativaly new arrival to the North Norfolk Coast, Andy is enjoying discovering the local area, walking miles with his dog. This month he tells us about walking along the coastline of Hunstanton and Old Hunstation to the West of Burnham Deepdale. The promenade, the resort town of Hunstanton, the attractions along the beaach front, the cliffs of Old Hunstanton, the lifeboat station and good places to eat & drink.

Book Recommendations

Machines Like Me

by Ian McEwan

Chris loved this book, based on the alternative reality that Britain lost the Falklands War. He describes this as funny, clever and hard to put down.

The Living Mountain

by Nan Shepherd

Chris has long been a fan of books about the natural world. And this recommendation was recorded on Nan Shepherd’s birthday.

The Night Circus

by Erin Morgenstern

One of Jason’s favourite books, and highly recommended. The book itself is a thing of beauty and the story is magical. So want to visit The Night Circus now!

The Starless Sea

by Erin Morgenstern

Jason started with this recommendation as he’s just finishing reading it. By the same author as The Night Circus, but not related. Took a while to get into, but then became very hard to put down.

Music Recommendations

High Romance

by Emily Mae Winters

Chris picked up this album that he hadn’t listened to in a while. First seen at the Moseley Folk Festival, Emily was booked to play at Deepdale Festival. Beautiful album and well worth a listen.

The Magic Show Part One

by Little Red Kings

This band has a very special place in Chris’ heart, having worked with them across the years. Great songs, with awesome rifts, and featured in our Top Releases of 2020.

Callous

by Little Red Kings

Booked for Deepdale Festival, fingers crossed we can enjoy dancing to this band’s great music in the Brick Barn very soon.
