Deepdale Podcast – Nicky King (Wells RNLI Coxswain), Iona Lane (Musician) & Rosie Newport (Artisan & Wild Swimmer) – June 2025 🎧

Welcome to the June 2025 episode of the Deepdale Podcast, our magazine programme about North Norfolk. This month, Jason continues to meet fascinating members of the North Norfolk community. He chats with Nicky King, the coxswain of Wells-next-the-Sea RNLI, Iona Lane a musician inspired by the natural world who’s playing a gig at Deepdale on 21st June, and Rosie Newport, a local artisan and passionate wild swimmer.

As June is such a lovely month on the North Norfolk Coast, hopefully you’ll take inspiration from Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild and fit in some wildlife enjoyment.  All three of the chats this month are with people who love the landscape, so naturally the conversation turns to enjoying the space, big skies and coastline that we have in abundance here.  If you are looking for reasons to visit North Norfolk, then you’ll find a huge list of North Norfolk and West Norfolk events on our website, and we are constantly adding to the listings, you can also add yours.

Enjoy the listen.  And if you do, please do subscribe (its free) and leave us a review on your favourite podcast app or directory.  There is a huge back catalogue of episodes to listen to.

Iona Lane

Gig on Saturday 21st June

Iona has visited Deepdale before, back in 2023, and we love her music, and they way wildlife and the environment influence her work. Hugely fitting that in June, the month of Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild, that we welcome Iona to Deepdale for a gig.

Jason and Iona chat about her music, her life working and playing in one of the most remote pubs in Britain, in Knoydart in the Scottish highlands, and touring.

Thank you to Iona for allowing us to play a sample from her new album. We chose Big Skies as we felt it was hugely appropriate for the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.
