Throughout December 2022, we have posted the Deepdale Advent Calendar on our social media. 24 things we love, from geese filled skies to pints of Moon Gazer Ale to live music. Hope you like what we selected. Here’s to hygge and we hope you have a brilliant Christmas & New Year. See you soon!
Day 1: One of the natural wonders of the beautiful North Norfolk Coast – Skeins of Geese filling the skies over Deepdale.
Day 2: Enjoying a lovely pint of Moon Gazer Ale, while warming ourselves by a fire pit.
Day 3: Live music in our Brick Barn – This is The Shackleton Trio.
Day 4: Star Gazing – With the wonderful dark skies on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast all you need to do is look up!
Thank you to the Kings Lynn & District Astronomy Society Group for this photo.
Day 5: Sunsets – Is there anything more beautiful than watching the sky turn orange, magical!
Day 6: Walking – To the pub, onto the marshes, along the Norfolk Coast Path, around Barrow Common – Time to breath, decompress and take in nature!
Day 7: Our Crew – Easy to spot in their ‘Leave only footprints’ fleeces or brightly coloured t-shirts. We think these guys are awesome!
Day 8: Punk Ukulele! – Who knew that such an unexpected thing could be so utterly entertaining.
Thank you to the Good Earth Collective for introducing us!
Day 9: Deepdale Podcast – Chats with musicians & artisans, local event & wildlife info, some of you have been on, and Chris’ Top Albums of the Year!
Day 10: Yarn bombing our pine tree – An activity, which surprisingly is loved by all at Deepdale Hygges
Day 11: Cake – The Deepdale team are cake obsessed! They do walk & cycle miles every day, so they deserve cake, and we have some great bakers in the team!
Day 12: Cycling – Great to explore beautiful North Norfolk Coast. This photo by Cat Arnold shows joy of 2 wheels. Bring your own or hire some & explore!
Day 13: A Cuppa – Our team only function with lots of hot drinks, but you wouldn’t believe the specialist orders when someone innocently asks over the radio ‘who wants a drink?’ Tea, coffee, decafinated, a special hot chocolate, all manner of fruit teas, the list is endless!
Day 14: Deepdale Barn Dance – At the Hygge in March lots of us try to work out our allemandes & circles, our reels & sets. A lot of confusion & laughter.
Day 15: Open Air Theatre on The Orchard – 2 or 3 times a year we’re visited by The Pantaloons, with their irreverent & hilarious versions of classic tales.
Day 16: 2 Minute Beach Clean – Head to the beach & don’t come back empty handed. Beautiful coastline, huge skies & helping the environment.
Day 17: Pop Up Shops – We do love a local artisan, something a little different from the usual high street fair, so pop next door to Dalegate Market.
Day 18: Conservation at Deepdale Farm – The views from Deepdale across the organic farm, with the beautiful wild flowers & abundance of wildlife!
Day 19: Pizza – How could you not like this deliciousness. A firm favourite of our team and made so delicious by the The Wood Fired Food Co. Mmmhh!
Day 20: Seal Pups – Want to see cute, then seal pups are a Winter must! Blakeney point is a perfect place, walk or catch a boat, wrap up warm.
Day 21: Our Regular Swallow Guests – Each year we are visited by many pairs of swallows, who build nests in every possible place.
Day 22: The RNLI – Hopefully never need their help, but when you do they’re amazing – Hunstanton, Wells-next-the-Sea, Sheringham, Cromer & Beach Lifeguards
Day 23: Hygge – We love this Danish concept, finding your happiness. Deepdale is all about finding your hygge, in particular your North Norfolk Coast hygge. Whatever your passion for this beautiful place, we hope to help you find it.
Day 24: Chris – (Particularly Chris on drums, possibly at his happiest) – The man, the myth, the legend, and our guru!
Thank you to the Bleeding Hearts for inviting him to play with them.
