I was viewing a house when I heard a Cetti's warbler in the garden. “We'll take it!” An exaggeration but not by much.

As a result we live alongside eight acres of Norfolk marsh, all for the wildness of it. It's become a family thing, especially one I share with my younger son Eddie, who has Down's syndrome. I wrote a book about a year in the life of the marsh: which is really about the privilege of living with vulnerability.
