Wednesday 12th June 2024
Show starts at 7pm - Gates open at 6pm
The Pantaloons return for the first of their Summer shows, with their hilarious take on this classic Oscar Wilde story. Comedy for all the family, a brilliant evening of comedy theatre.
NOW INDOORS - As we all know, the weather has been eventful recently, so we've decided to host the Pantaloons in our Brick Barn instead of in the Orchard. It will probably now be a perfect evening, but better safe than sorry. Please park at Dalegate Market (PE31 8FB) as normal, and then you'll be pointed across to the Brick Barn from there. No need to bring chairs, but picnics most welcome.
Everybody loves Ernest. In fact, Cecily and Gwendolen are both engaged to Ernest. The only trouble is, he doesn’t exist. Or does he…?
Best friends Jack and Algy have both created alter-egos to win the affections of their beloveds; but when will they stop being Ernest and start being, well, earnest?
Wilde’s comic masterpiece gets The Pantaloons treatment in their anarchic take on the classic comedy of manners. This energetic and musical production from the critically-acclaimed company infuses Wilde’s witty words with snappy new songs and frantically funny physical theatre to give this perennially popular play a hilarious contemporary twist!
If you've seen The Pantaloons before you know how funny they are, if you haven't you really should experience them!
This will be an open air theatre show in the lovely surroundings of the Deepdale Orchard.
Please bring your own picnics, chairs & rugs (whether outdoor or indoor), and make an evening of this lovely outdoor theatre event.
You can also enjoy food from Deepdale Cafe earlier in the day, Deepdale Stores will be open during most of the performance for extra snacks, or provisions before the show, and The Nest will be serving hot drinks & cakes until the show starts.
