What's that Wader?

If you're perplexed by Plovers, stumped by Sandpipers or don't know a Barwit from a Godwit, then this is the workshop for you!

RSPB Titchwell Marsh is home to hundreds of resident and visiting waders throughout the year. Extensive wetland habitats provide the perfect stop off point for hungry and tired travellers as they make their journey from Arctic homelands to warmer climes and back again. A hot spot for both common and rare species, you can easily tick off over 30 different types of waders during the course of the year. However, some species are tricky to identify or easily confused with similar birds. This workshop will introduce you to those differences and similarities and give you top tips to improve your identification skills by studying birds on the ground, in flight and in silhouette and by learning about breeding and feeding behaviours and changes in plumage.
