This time, the book we've selected is Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon.

Set in Ancient Sicily during Peloponnesian War, the book tells the hilarious tale of two unemployed Syracusan potters with a soft spot for poetry and drink as they attempt to mount a production of their favourite play in extraordinary circumstances.

Picked as a Book of the Year by The Guardian, The Independent, The Irish Times, The Financial Times and The TLS and winner of the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction 2024, we're thrilled to welcome Ferdia to Aylsham to discuss the novel, answer our questions and sign copies of the book.

To get involved, simply buy or borrow a copy of Glorious Exploits, read it and get ready to talk about it at our Town Read Get Together on Thursday April 24th at Friendship Hall. Copies of Glorious Exploits are available to buy at Aylsham Book Hive at a reduced price of £9.00 or can be borrowed from Aylsham Library free of charge.

There's no fee to join the bookclub and it's open to everyone - so if you haven't read this wonderful book, now's your chance! And if you have - read it again and come along and chat about it with friends, neighbours and the author over a glass of wine - all in the great metropolis of Aylsham!
