Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May 2025
7.30pm (16th May) & 10am - 4pm (Saturday 17th May & Sunday 18th May)
A charming celebration of Cromer's heritage.
The Crab and Lobster Festival is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers that raises thousands of pounds for lots of local schemes and other charitable organisations within Cromer. The Crab and Lobster Festival has been held for many years. After a break due to Covid, the Cromer Crab and Lobster Festival has seen an increase in attendance each year. Throughout the last 13 years the Art Trail themes have ranged from, portholes, ships wheels, lamps, boats and beach deck chairs - just to mention a few. This year, 61 local businesses and charitable organisations have received their 'Art Trail' item. The Crab and Lobster Festival Committee has selected 'Treasure Chests' as this year's theme, offering them in two sizes - small and large. Each business is encouraged to decorate their treasure chest, and in the past both staff, customers and local artists have assisted in creating wonderful works of art. These chests have been made by About with Friends and their Work Skill Team.
About with friends partnered with the Cromer Crab and Lobster Festival from the start, back in 2012. This allows their members the opportunity to use their skills and at the same time learn new ones and is a great way for them to be at the very heart of this fantastic community event.
The Art Trail leaflet will soon be available to the public. This leaflet will include details of all participating businesses and local charitable organisations, the artists who have contributed to the ‘Treasure Chests,' and the locations where these chests can be viewed.
New for this year we ask you to vote for your favourite treasure chest, details on how to do this are on display within each of the supporting businesses and these can be found within this year's art trail leaflet and on our social platforms or via
www.cromercrabandlobster.co.uk. Winners will be announced at the Grand Auction on
31st August - please help share your support.
Opening Concert Friday 16th May 2025
The festivities are starting on Friday 16th of May with the Cromer Crab and Lobster opening concert on Cromer pier. Hosted by Ben Langley who has featured on Britain's got talent and Christmas shows at the Hippodrome in Great Yarmouth, Ben has been asked for a comment “I am so looking forward to performing at The Crab & Lobster Festival. Cromer has a special place in my heart with so many memories so to be part of the proceedings will be an absolute pleasure". We also have Dale Bullimore, who is becoming one of this country's notable vocal acts. As a versatile performer, he combines classic standards with today's current chart hits. Dale provides a range of vocal performances that can engage audiences with his singing abilities and personality. Our dance school for the show is Live and Let's Dance. Since 2017 Live and Let's Dance has been consistently growing with talented and enthusiastic students who walk through our door. Following their passion for dance, students learn technical, energetic and professionally choreographed routines, to perform at festivals, fetes, Cromer Carnival and perform at their own dance school production, which is a biennial event. Live and Let's Dance encourages students to express their love and passion for dance, whilst concentrating on performance skills, musicality, technique and building confidence. Whether that's Street Dance, Modern, Contemporary or Tap, each class is fun, welcoming and suitable for all dance abilities, giving each student the best chance to reach their full
potential in the hobby they adore. And finally we have Pot of Gold Shanty Crew performing at our opening concert, The group comprises eleven musicians and friends who are now in their ninth year of captivating audiences from Lands End to the East Coast with shanty performances. They have performed at prestigious venues such as the Minack Cliff Theatre, Norwich's Maddermarket Theatre, Ely's Maltings, churches, and shanty festivals nationwide. Their repertoire includes a collection of one hundred songs—originals written and arranged by the crew, or any lyrics that pertain to water, ships, sailors, or mermaids.
