Friday 28th to Sunday 30th September 2018
Friday - Brick Barn Stage
Something wicked this way comes ... and it’s The Vagaband! With their very own wickedly unique interpretation of English and American roots music, this endlessly elegant inventive and mutable collective of accomplished musicians are heading to Deepdale to take the Festival by storm.
Headlining our main Brick Barn Stage on the Friday evening, this highly-respected Norwich-based band are a reason to attend the Festival all on their own!
Based around their leader and main songwriter Jose McGill, this eclectic and protean group released their third album ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ earlier in 2018 to great critical acclaim.
Described by Q Magazine as 'proof the Devil doesn’t always have the best tunes', their songs range across and around genres, including Americana, rock, blues, folk and country, while drawing deep on the British Celtic foundations that underpin much of modern roots music.
Ranked as one of the Top 20 New Roots Bands in Europe in 2013, they have gone from strength to strength, sharing stages with the likes of Fairport Convention, The Handsome Family and Dodgy, gracing festivals across the UK and beyond with their presence, including Glastonbury, Wilderness and Bestival.
We are delighted to welcome them to our own Festival stage, and very much hope you’ll join us.
This was the programme for Deepdale Festival 2018, our 2nd annual festival. We had a fabulous weekend, with an amazing range of musical talent including national and local bands.
