The Smokin’ Pilchards are an alternative folk-stomping shanty machine based in the UK playing sea-shanty inspired folk and blues about murder, mischief and mis-adventure.
The Band is made up of brothers John (Vocals and guitar) and Ed Cartwright (Sax), Blues legend Roberto Carlucci (Lead Guitar), Ryan Peters (U Bass) Chrissy Velveteen (Backing vocals) and Tracy Hickinbottom (Cajon and occasionally Kit).
The first EP 'Huer’s Cry' was released back in 2016 followed by their debut album 'Into the brine' in 2018. Watch out for the new album 'Blame it on the Kraken!' in Jan 2021. The shoals are amassing!
