Thanks for listening to the June 2021 episode of the Deepdale Podcast, produced by the team of Deepdale Farm, Deepdale Camping & Rooms and Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.
This month includes Farm Chat with Nathan & Jason, we meet Oli from One Stop Nature Shop, Fran from The White Horse & Staithe Smokehouse, chat with Chris, enjoy a music recommendation, and a Jason gives us a round up of forthcoming events at Deepdale.
Farm Chat with Nathan & Jason
Another busy month on Deepdale Farm, with the wonderful news that our Countryside Stewardship scheme is all agreed. The agreement is backdated to January, so now there’s a rush on to drill all the areas of wildflower and winter bird food mixes. The farm is looking simply stunning with flowers, pollinators, and wildlife all over the place.
Open Farm Sunday – 27th June
Nathan and Jason get excited about the forthcoming Open Farm Sunday that takes place at the end of the month on 27th June. A wonderful opportunity for visitors to learn more about the farm, and meet some our partners in the transformation including Norfolk Rivers Trust, Burnham Overy Bees & Heath Farmhouse Bee Project, Richard Rood, William Haire & his sheep, and Moongazer Ale. – www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/open-farm-sunday-27th-june-2021/
Local Wildlife Chat with Oli from One Stop Nature Shop
Jason chats with Oli from One Stop Nature Shop at Dalegate Market about wildlife to see locally, and special visitors to this part of the world you should look out for.
Interview with Fran from The White Horse
Jason chats with Fran, head chef at The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe, and partner in Staithe Smokehouse. They chat about local food, how menus are chosen, and how Fran found herself cooking at The White Horse after time in the USA.
Tourism Chat with Chris & Jason
In between checking in customers, Jason grabs Chris for a quick chat. They chat about how they’ve dealt with the covid rules, and how nice it is to welcome back customers to Deepdale, and to see campervans & tents joining the motorhomes. They look forward to Deepdale Festival in September, preparing an amazing line-up and keeps fingers crossed normality is here for the event.
Music Recommendation
Travelling Alone
by Tift Merritt
Chris loves this album. He met Tift at Cornbury Festival a while back, and has loved her music ever since. This album gets him home after a long shift, particularly the track ‘Still Not Home’.
What’s On at Deepdale
Jason gets excited that there are events happening at Deepdale this month. The Pantaloons perform their hilarious version of Pride & Prejudice on Saturday 26th June. And Deepdale Farm hosts its first Open Farm Sunday on 27th June. There are lots of other events in the diary – deepdalecamping.co.uk/events/
