Gothic Voices Concert, Holkham Hall, Marble Hall | A special programme of carols and songs for the season together with festive mass movements by composers such as John Dunstable (c.1390-1453) and Leonel Power (c.1370-1445). | classical music, concert

A small consort of four voices formed more than twenty years ago by Christopher Page, Gothic Voices is established as one of the leading vocal ensembles in Europe. As its name implies, the consort specialises in medieval music from all over Europe, but it also performs modern music, much of it commissioned by the group. Gothic Voices has performed in all the great cathedrals at home and throughout Europe and at major early music festivals worldwide. The group has a discography of more than 20 recordings and their recording, inspired by the music of Hildegard of Bingen, is one of the best-selling CDs of pre-classical music of all time. Their singing was described in The Times as “sustenance for the soul – a short-cut to bliss.” A perfect programme for a winter's evening at Holkham Hall.

Price: £25

Location: Holkham Hall, Marble Hall
