Let’s give a Hug Day

The event is the culmination of months of work by quilt and block makers from all over the UK. Prior to this event there will have been a weekend exhibition will be held in the church.

The church hug will consist of over 50 highly colourful patchwork quilt tops made by people from all over the U.K. This event is free. Any donations will help the Friends of St Andrew’s Church Little Massingham raise funds for the church roof as several years ago thieves stole the lead from it. The grade 1 building is on the Heritage England at risk register.

Later in the year Quilts 4 Care Leavers will add the backing, wadding and topstitching to the quilts. The completed quits called Hugs will then be given to young care leavers who leave the care system every year.

Monday 13th May is “Let’s give a Hug Day” when the quilts will be taken from the exhibition and will encircle the church giving it give a much needed hug! Arrive by 10.30 to see the hug at 11.00am!
